Baby D’s Nursery

It has been quite a work in progress, but we’re finally done with the nursery!  Its been so much fun to put together, once we finally decided on our furniture.  Our crib is the DaVinci Kalani 4-in-1 convertible crib.  PJ swears that our child will take this with them to college since it converts out to a full size bed.  We certainly hope it lasts a while, though I’m not sure about college (wishful thinking).

We both decided that we didn’t have room for a changing table and dresser so we thought it would be best to get dresser and put the changing pad on top.  This way we can use it when we send our child off to college 😉

Ok, so now that we had the big pieces decided on, we were ready to make some decisions on what the decor would look like.  Since we’re not finding out the sex, it had to be gender neutral.  We love this idea anyway, because if we have say a boy this time and a girl down the road, we can use the same bedding, etc. for both of them.

Without further ado…our nursery!

The lanterns are from our wedding, which I love!

Our bedding is safari theme with little giraffe’s, elephants and camels on the bumper.  And of course, those of you who know me, know that I’m obsessed with polka dots.  This set happened to have a polka dot fitted sheet which sorta sealed the deal.

I’ll explain the butcher paper behind the shelf once we get closer to the end.  It’s a fun project we’ve been working on…

So now that we have things set in their place, I can focus in on washing all the baby clothes and moving the knick knacks around until my hearts content.  We’re ready for Baby D’s arrival and I think he/she is going to love their room.

** Special thanks to PJ for moving the furniture in 100 combinations until my Mom and I had it “just right”.  Poor guy.  Also, a big thanks to my Mom for helping me make some decisions on where to put everything and for actually helping me put all of it away.  Love you guys**
